Zapatero contemplates a new reduction of taxes

The president of the Government, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, emphasized yesterday in the National Congress of the Familiar Company, in Palma de Mallorca, that is possible that new tax slopes are applied. The president indicated that the fiscal pressure “would have to evolve to the loss”, although did not detail in what taxes nor in what intensity. In spite of the reductions of the PERSONAL INCOME TAX and the tax of societies in 2007, the fiscal pressure has clearly evolved to the rise in the last years. Until point of that Spain locates at the top of the OECD - organization that groups to the 30 richer countries of the world in ascent of the fiscal pressure, that has happened from 34.7% to 36.7% of the GIP in only two years, from 2004 to 2006. “The policy of tax reduction of this country can continue”, pointed Zapatero before a forum of more than 600 familiar industralists, to whom this type of messages sounds to them very well. The president of the Government dropped the possible reduction being based on that the Spanish economy will take “a hit limited and transitory of the international crisis”. Zapatero was based on the good evolution of the Spanish economy, of which he augured that he will continue growing rates similar to those of 2006, that will continue creating job and that will maintain the rate of unemployment below 8%. Also, he advanced that the surplus of the Social Security until September rose to 13,722, 8 million Euros. More collection In spite of the reductions of taxes, the collection continues growing good rate. The Secretary of State of Property, Carlos Ocaña, announced that the State registered a surplus of 12,857 million Euros to the closing of the third trimester, 1.22% of the GIP, with strong increases in the collection of the great tributes: of 32% in the tax of societies and of 16% in the PERSONAL INCOME TAX. On the contrary, the income coming from the IVA practically follow suspended, with a growth of the 1.9% until September. Ocaña explained that evolution obeys to a change in the growth landlord, with a smaller pull of the consumption.
