Solbes bets to undertake in the next legislature a reform of the labor market and pensions
The vice-president second and minister of Economy and Hacienda, Pedro Solbes, affirmed today that in the next legislature it is necessary to undertake a reform of the labor market and the public system of pensions, since, in his opinion, they are matters that must be in “permanent change”. Solbes, who participated in the “Forum Five Days”, indicated that the “excess” of temporality in Spain has generated a market “dual”, reason why assured that in the next legislature “it will be necessary to see what can be made” to correct this imbalance. He enters the measures to adopt, he emphasized the necessity to reduce “to the maximum” the national debt to do against the challenge of the aging of the population, to increase “to the maximum” the rate of activity and to carry out “a permanent” revision of the system of pensions to make it “more sustainable and efficient”. In the matter of social quotes, the minister said that some specific reductions throughout this legislature have been applied and that the unique generalized reduction that was carried out was in 1994, which the Government had to compensate with an ascent of the IVA. “I would not at the present time like a experience of this type”, aimed.
